The sun sets immediately to the left of Mersey Bluff Lighthouse, meaning that for the enthusiastic photographer, golden hour is absolutely delightful. On a clear day, orange hues light up the side of the lighthouse and the strangely deformed trees that surround it.
It’s a unique place too. Unusual looking trees that are shaped by the harsh winds that batter Devonport on a regular basis, and a visible history of the natuve Aboriginal tribes that used to inhabit this area.

This photo was taken during golden hour on the 24th May 2024 and is the result of 4 long exposures taken at f/22 and 200 ISO with a gradual 6 stop ND filter to tame the sky.
